The City of Rancho Cucamonga's Community Development is comprised of three main departments: Planning, Engineering Services, and Building and Safety, each of which has a role delivering on a world class community.  

Since 2007 Burrtec Waste Industries has been the single franchised waste hauler for the City of Rancho Cucamonga, and has been responsible for providing recycling, refuse, and green waste services for residents, commercial and industrial customers.  Burrtec Waste Industries is the only business permitted to haul solid waste in the City of Rancho Cucamonga.  Per Section 8.17.050 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code, no unauthorized collection containers are allowed. For more information or to set up an account, contact Burrtec

AB 1332 requires each local agency, by January 1, 2025, to develop a program for the preapproval of accessory dwelling unit plans, whereby the local agency accepts accessory dwelling unit plan submissions for preapproval and approves or denies the preapproval applications, as specified. This bill authorizes a local agency to charge a fee to an applicant for the preapproval of an accessory dwelling unit plan, as specified. This bill requires the local agency to post preapproved accessory dwelling unit plans and the contact information of the applicant on the local agency’s internet website.

The Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Utility (RCMU) provides economic and reliable electricity to over 3,900 metered businesses and residents in a selected area within the Southeastern proximity of the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Since 2004, RCMU has continued to serve our customers with reliable electricity while maintaining lower rates than those charged by the local investor-owned utility, along with excellent customer service.
