PACN 34: “Sa Ibang buhay” follows the story of Ruben Ramirez Jr., a middle-aged Filipino man unsatisfied with the way his life turned out. After a very heated argument with his son, he finds himself mysteriously transported to his hometown of Quezon City, Philippines in 1986 where he meets his younger self. Ruben must face the past and race against time in this story of music, love, and loss.

Cal Poly Pomona Barkada’s Pilipinx-American Cultural Night (PACN) is a student-led two-act play that celebrates Pilipinx-American culture through traditional dances from different regions of the Philippines and a theatrical acting performance with a story revolving around the experiences of the Pilipinx-American diaspora. Since 1980, CPP Barkada’s PACN has been a chance for many Pilipinx-American college students to gain the opportunity to connect to their culture and learn the history of their people at a deeper level.
