Project Update 4/9/2026

Construction on the Almond Street Project is moving into its next phase.

Almond Street serves as a critical public safety evacuation route. These improvements will help ensure residents, first responders, and emergency services can move safely and efficiently during emergencies, including wildfires and other critical incidents.

Upcoming Schedule:

  • Survey work begins: Monday, April 13, crews will begin survey work, and residents may notice equipment deliveries and increased activity in the area.
  • Construction & demolition start: Friday, April 24
  • Estimated completion: Fall 2026

What to Expect

As construction progresses, residents should expect ongoing construction activity, including noise and temporary inconveniences. Access to properties may be impacted at times, and advance notice will be provided when disruptions are anticipated.

The City is exploring a potential Almond Street Project to address traffic circulation and create a secondary emergency evacuation route in the northwest area. This project could connect Almond Street between Carnelian Street and Via Verde Street.
