All-America City

In 2020, Rancho Cucamonga was recognized today as one of 10 All-America City award winners. The National Civic League presented this honor to recognize Rancho Cucamonga's work in inclusive civic engagement to address health and well-being and create stronger connections among residents, businesses, and nonprofit and government leaders.

COVID-19 Recovery & Response

Like in so many communities, COVID-19 dominated 2020 in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Learn how City leadership quickly established key goals for our emergency operations, which were to ensure the continuity of critical City services; protect the community from the spread of COVID-19 and assist local businesses with their economic recovery.

Public Safety Facility

The construction of the much-anticipated shared Public Safety Facility between the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is now complete. Located in the City’s west end, Fire Station #172 was relocated to the new facility and went into service on February 19th, 2021.

Central Park Master Plan Update

Rancho Cucamonga’s Central Park has long been planned as an outdoor focal point for the growing city. Originally conceived over three decades ago, Central Park has seen continued development with the most recent addition of an outdoor fitness area in late 2020.

Etiwanda Grade Separation Update

The Etiwanda Avenue Grade Separation is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region, improving local road surface transportation to enhance vehicle and rail safety, support local manufacturing and logistics, and ease traffic congestion across Rancho Cucamonga.

Etiwanda Heights Neighborhood and Conservation Plan and Annexation

For nearly forty years, the City of Rancho Cucamonga has held a vision to preserve the natural and rural character and environment of the front country above the foothill neighborhoods. In November of 2020, San Bernardino County’s Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) approved the annexation of approximately 4,085 acres from the County of San Bernardino to be incorporated into the City of Rancho Cucamonga.

PlanRC, the General Plan Update

Early in 2020, the City embarked on a multi-year planning effort to bring the community together to talk about the future and update the City’s General Plan. PlanRC, the general plan update, will set a long-term vision and provide policy direction and guidance to residents, City staff, decision-makers, and the broader community.

High-Speed Rail & Ontario Loop Project

The City of Rancho Cucamonga is in the midst of two projects that will create a vibrant, clean transit connector to Ontario Airport and a high-speed rail project which will create incredible opportunities and will help to make this an even more desirable region to live, work and play.
