The City of Rancho Cucamonga is now accepting applications for parade entries for the City’s Founders Day Community Parade themed – Taking Flight- All Things That Fly!, presented by Mark Christopher Auto Center. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2015. This year’s parade will have a new location, beginning at Day Creek and Foothill Boulevard; the route will continue south to Jack Benny and conclude at the Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter. The parade begins at 9:00 a.m. and an awards presentation and celebration will take place immediately following the parade at the Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter.
The City encourages businesses, schools, youth groups and other organizations to submit parade entry applications for the Founders Day Community Parade. Participation is free, but all participants must pre-register and submit an entry application available on-line at www.RCpark.com. Groups can create small floats or marching units. All participants must carry a 6’ x 2 ½’ identification banner and be uniformed, costumed or appropriately attired to represent the parade theme. Deadline for entries is Saturday, October 10th, 2015; award categories this year include Best Representation of Theme, Most Spirited, Most Participation, Best Overall Float and more. The competitive Founders award is presented to the group that best embodies the spirit of the day. Parade sponsorship opportunities are still available.
