At approximately 12:33 a.m. on December 11, 2014, Rancho Cucamonga firefighters responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 9500 block of Orange St. in Rancho Cucamonga.
Upon arrival, firefighters found active fire in the chimney and extending onto the roof. Fire crews quickly attacked the fire and had it under control within 23 minutes of arriving on scene. The fire was contained to the chimney and roof area, and the residents were able to return to their residence after the fire was extinguished.
While fire crews were working to extinguish the fire, one firefighter sustained minor injuries. The firefighter was treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no additional injuries were reported. Rancho Cucamonga firefighters were assisted by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies as well as American Medical Response (AMR).
