City receives "Cool California City" designation

The City of Rancho Cucamonga was officially named a "Cool California City" at a special award ceremony on October 23, 2014 by the California Air Resources Board for being one of the top three cities lowering its greenhouse gas emissions during a statewide six month long challenge.

The funding awarded as a result of participating in the challenge will be used to construct a new rest stop along the Pacific Electric Trail. The new rest stop at Hermosa Avenue will be dedicated to the residents that were part of the Rancho Cucamonga CoolCalifornia Challenge competition. The local award ceremony is slated the November 19, 2014 City Council meeting.
