At approximately 12:17 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, Rancho Cucamonga Firefighters responded to a reported commercial fire in the 8800 block of Etiwanda Ave. in Rancho Cucamonga.
Firefighters arrived at the All State Recycling facility, which was closed and unoccupied, to find large bundles of cardboard burning. More than 21 firefighters responded on five fire engines and two truck companies, and had the fire knocked down within a few hours. The fire burned approximately 100 bundles of cardboard, but caused no damage or threat to any structures. Rancho Cucamonga Firefighters were assisted by a 10-person hand crew as well as a bulldozer from San Bernardino County Fire Department, who were helping spread out the debris and completely extinguish any hotspots.
A neighboring business, S.A. Recycling, provided fire crews with a supply of firefighting foam they had stored on site. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
