On October 26, 2012, 10 Chihuahuas took flight to their new homes in Maine! After living in sunny Southern California for too many months, they were fed up with this hot fall weather and decided it was time for some winter living. So their friends at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center made some calls to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta, Maine to see if they had any room for these traveling Chihuahua's. To their delight, they not only had room to board them, but had some wonderful permanent housing ready and waiting.
You see in Kennebec, large dogs are a dime a dozen; however the little guys are rarely seen. No one knows why, but they have come to be known as the rare elusive treasure sought after by many. This means they get their choice of the perfect home and our friends at the Kennebec Valley Humane Society are more than happy to make that match.
Thanks to the generous contributions of our wonderful supporters, the terrific traveling ten took their first plane trip and are soon to be placed in their forever home.
