At approximately 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, Rancho Cucamonga firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 8600 block of Arrow Rte. in Rancho Cucamonga.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire pouring out the front window of a single-story house. The fire was contained to the living room where it started, and crews quickly determined that no one was home at the time. Crews rescued two dogs from the home, who were uninjured.
Over 20 firefighters responded to the incident with four fire engines and two truck companies, including assistance of one San Bernardino County Fire engine from neighboring Upland. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies assisted with traffic control as eastbound traffic on Arrow Rte. was diverted to allow firefighters room to work.
Investigators said the fire appears to be accidental, but the cause is under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
