2018 Summer Reading Program

Are you ready for summertime fun at the library?

This year’s theme is “Reading Takes You Everywhere” and we have a library full of books waiting to whisk your mind and imagination away!  You can travel to other countries, far away planets, and deep into your imagination all through reading at the Library this summer. We hope this theme inspires you to explore your own creativity and discover new places within our community.

The Library invites everyone to participate in the annual Summer Reading Program – from infants to teens to adults. Simply stop by either of our Library locations to sign up beginning June 4th.  While you’re there, check out a few books to get you started.

Reading during the summer is essential for children and teens to help maintain their reading skills and to prevent “the summer slide”. Children learn by modeling or watching their families, so have an exciting time reading together as a family!

The Summer Reading Program continues for seven weeks:
Monday, June 4, 2018 – Saturday, July 21, 2018

Sign up and check in at one of the Rancho Cucamonga Library locations (Archibald or Paul A. Biane)
The last day to sign up is Saturday, July 14
Last day to check in for prizes is Saturday, July 21, 2018
*Prizes subject to change, while supplies last*

Family Summer Reading Program Finale:

Children who complete all seven of the weeks are invited to a special Finale Party to celebrate.

*Tickets are earned for registered child and one adult caregiver when
all 7 weeks of the Summer Reading Program are completed.

Weekly Summer Performances:

The Library also hosts weekly family-friendly summer performances featuring music, magic, animals, puppets, juggling, and a whole lot more.

Free tickets are distributed one week prior to show and are on a first come basis available at the Children’s Information Desk.

Teens and adults are treated to their own special programming, raffles, and book clubs as well.

Last summer over 4,000 children, teens, and adults joined the Summer Reading Program. This year, let’s aim for 5,000. Join us at the Library for the “Reading Takes You Everywhere” Summer Reading Program!
