Explorers Program

Calling all teens, grades 5 - 10! Join RC TeenWorks after school for fun and engaging exploratory programs that provide leadership, character-building and community service opportunities. Explorers programs vary and are offered monthly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pre-registration and fee are required.

Registration Information

For Explorers session dates, times, and fees, and to register online, click the Register icon next to the activity you are interested in enrolling in. Walk-in registration is available at the Goldy S. Lewis Community Center at Central Park - 11200 Base Line Road, Rancho Cucamonga (map). Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sat. / Sun. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Cooking & Life Skills      

In a hands-on and interactive setting, participants will learn about basic kitchen skills and simple recipes. Get a grasp on money and budgeting, basic first aid, time management, laundry, and other important life skills.

You and the Environment

Find out the role you play in the world around you. Learn how to minimize your carbon footprint through composting, tricks to saving energy, healthy eating, and even create DIY products.

Intro to Bio: What's Inside You?

Learn about the smallest unit of life that's inside of us all: the cell. Each Explorers team will build clay cell models and learn the basics of human biology.

Engineering: Build a Hovercraft

Work in teams to create a fully functioning hovercraft that is powerful enough to support the weight of one teen! No class 11/22.

Note: Prior to program start time, Explorers may visit the supervised Teen Center from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
