Explorers Program

Calling all teens, grades 5 - 10! Join RC TeenWorks after school for fun and engaging exploratory programs that provide leadership, character-building and community service opportunities. Explorers programs vary and are offered monthly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pre-registration and fee are required.

Registration Information

For Explorers session dates, times, and fees, and to register online, click the Register icon next to the activity you are interested in enrolling in. Walk-in registration is available at the Goldy S. Lewis Community Center at Central Park - 11200 Base Line Road, Rancho Cucamonga (map). Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sat. / Sun. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Lights, Camera, Action!       

Learn how to go from pre-production to post-production while working on a group video project. Become familiar with the technical and creative sides of video production. Participants will choose a concept for their video, write a script, act, direct, shoot, and edit.


Interested in the performing arts? Participants will work together to create a story while also learning the elements involved in putting together a live play. Gain the courage to hit the stage while working together to put on a spectacular show. Also included are script writing, stage design, costumes, prop projects, and more.

Cooking and Teen Life Skills

In a hands-on and interactive setting, participants will learn about basic kitchen skills and simple recipes. Get a grasp on money and budgeting, basic first aid, time management, laundry, and other important life skills.

Note: Drop-in program available from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to Explorers start time may visit the supervised Teen Lounge for $2 per day (payment is taken at Lions West front counter).
