The City of Rancho Cucamonga's Community Services Department's Park Ranger program consists of two part-time staff that assist in enhancing Public Safety Initiatives by protecting and preserving parklands and open spaces. The Park Rangers report to the Community Services Department and work closely with the Sheriff's Department. The duties of the Park Rangers vary from enforcing regulations, educating the community, and promoting the park sites, Pacific Electric Trail, and the (resident entry) to Cucamonga Canyon and Etiwanda Preserves. The Park Ranger's provide a positive presence in Rancho Cucamonga parks, and serve as goodwill ambassadors to all who use the City's park facilities.
