Welcome to the City Clerk's Office & Records Management Department’s webpage. Our department is committed to providing quality public service and connecting the public with the legislative process. We strive to ensure that the city’s legislative processes are open and public by providing a link between citizens and government with processes aimed toward transparency. Through efficient use of city resources, we are able to ensure the preservation of Rancho Cucamonga’s legislative history.

Our team is here to assist with public records requests, subpoenas, claims, processing board and commission applications for appointment, elections administration, updating and maintaining city ordinances and codes and by providing access to legislative meeting information, economic interest reports (Form 700), election related material and campaign financial disclosure filings.

The City Clerk’s Office/Records Management Department hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, except holidays. Jan Reynolds was elected by Rancho Cucamonga voters as City Clerk in 2008, 2012, and again in 2016. Jan and her husband Bruce, have been married since April 28, 1966 and residents of Rancho Cucamonga since 1978. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. Jan retired as an employee of the City of Rancho Cucamonga in December 2007. During her career with the city, she worked in the Planning and Community Development departments as well as the Redevelopment Agency.

About the Position
The City Clerk is an elected representative of the people and serves a four-year term. The City Clerk has legal responsibilities described in California Government Code Sections 40800. The City Clerk is responsible for administering the oath of office to elected officials and city commissioners and maintains the official city records, which reflect the actions of the governing body.

About the Position
The City Clerk Services Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the City Clerk Office/Records Management Department which promotes community involvement and awareness and supports the City Council, staff and the citizens of Rancho Cucamonga by coordinating the legislative process and administering city elections. Governed by provisions of state, election, and municipal codes, the department serves to preserve and protect the legislative history of the city. As a service department, staff assists the public, elected officials, and the city organization with a number of important activities, including accurately preparing and processing agendas, and administering the citywide records management program including records storage and destruction. The City Clerk's Office administers the coordination of city elections, including the filing of Candidate Disclosure Statements and Statements of Economic Interests as required by law.
