The Treasury Management Section works with the City Treasurer and the Deputy City Treasurer, and is responsible for daily cash management and investment of funds for the City of Rancho Cucamonga and the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District. The Section is also responsible for the daily transferring and settling of depository funds, investing excess funds, and reporting investments in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws and the City’s Investment Policy. The Treasury Management Section also maintains working relationships with the City's depository bank, authorized broker/dealers, and the City's safekeeping agent.
The City’s credit rating is currently AA as issued by Standard and Poor’s. This rating reflects the City’s consistent maintenance of very strong reserves coupled with very favorable income and property wealth indicators. Standard and Poor’s has noted that the City’s outlook is stable.
