Get to know the City of Rancho Cucamonga, its governance, departments, and much more.

Welcome to the Government Section of the City of Rancho Cucamonga. In this section you will find information relating to the City's governance and links to other government entities within our region and California.

Since its incorporation as a California General Law City in 1977, Rancho Cucamonga has operated using the "Council-Manager" form of local government. Under this system, voters elect a Mayor and four Council Members to serve as the legislative body. In addition, voters elect the City Clerk and City Treasurer.

The City Manager, serving at the discretion of the City Council, is the administrative head of the City government responsible for directing the daily operations of the City, enforcing municipal regulations, and ensuring that the organizations's on-going fiscal health is capable of supporting these responsibilities.
