Water Management

A staff of highly trained water management personnel provides for the daily control and repair of the City's irrigation systems. The City has deployed an advanced system of 590 irrigation controllers and two weather stations that are linked through radio and telephone communications to a central control. The weather stations provide daily weather updates to each controller which in turn adjusts the irrigation schedule to apply the optimum amount of water to the landscape based on the current weather conditions. Additionally, the field controllers send data each morning to the central computers, providing staff with diagnostic information on water usage, line breaks and electrical faults enabling maintenance crews to make repairs in a timely manner.
