Commercial and Multi-Family Residential Properties The City of Rancho Cucamonga does not maintain trees located within the public right-of-way that are adjacent to commercial, industrial, multi residential and other non residential sites. The property owners at these sites are responsible for the full and continual maintenance of such trees.
This maintenance includes providing sufficient water, injury prevention, regular pruning, the removal of dead trees, and the replacement of trees. These trees must be maintained in accordance with proper arboricultural standards. Topping is prohibited. It is recommended that this work be performed by Arborists certified through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). More information regarding proper tree maintenance practices can be found at www.isa-arbor.org.
The City of Rancho Cucamonga requires notification from the property owners prior to removing a dead tree from the public right-of-way. Trees to be planted in the public right-of-way must be of the species designated by the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Permits are not required except when a lane closure is necessary.
