Obtaining Your PropertyDedicated To Your Safety Property and Evidence is released by appointment only through the Property Evidence Division Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Items held as Evidence are released on a case by case basis. Factors that can dictate whether or not property can be released include; whether the case has been through the court system, if the District Attorney or the Police Department Agent for the case have determined the items are no longer needed for appeals or other holding requirements, whether the item is a releasable item. Contraband items will not be released. Some Evidence may also require an order from the Court to be released.
For all requests to obtain firearms call the Property and Evidence Division to determine if the firearm is available for release. Once available a request must be processed through the Department of Justice by submitting a Law Enforcement Gun Release Application.
All individuals requesting items held in the Property and Evidence Division must make an appointment regardless of whether a court order or Department of Justice Firearms release has been obtained.
Please contact the Property/Evidence Division at (909) 477-2824 for further information and be prepared to provide the report or case number associated with your property, your name, and telephone number.
