The following volunteer positions are available. Please download either an adult volunteer application (for ages 18 and over) or student volunteer application (for students under 18) and submit to the library.
Picture Book Shelver
Minimum Age: 14. This volunteer position involves shelving children's picture books in alphabetical order. Training: 1 day. Minimum commitment: 2 hours per week.
Summer Reading Program Assistant
Minimum Age: 14. This volunteer position involves greeting children when they first enter the program, providing materials needed, explaining how the program works, maintaining files, assisting children in recording books they have read, hearing/reviewing book reports, and distributing incentives. Minimum commitment: 3 hours per week for 10 weeks. Click here for more information on Summer Reading Club.
Note: Applications taken in March, April and May, closing the first week of June.
Teen Action Group
Minimum Age: 14. Teens act as advisors to library staff, making suggestions for library services for teens, discussing books and purchases, helping plan library programs, and more. Minimum commitment: 1 hour meeting per month, plus participation in teen programs and library events. Click here for more information on TAG.

Back to Basics Tutor
Minimum age: 16. For information on becoming a Back to Basics Volunteer (Children's Tutor), please refer to Back to Basics.
Adult Literacy Tutor
Minimum age: 18. For information on becoming a Literacy Volunteer (Adult Tutor), please refer to Adult Literacy.

Housecalls Services Volunteer
Minimum Age: 18. Volunteers deliver library materials to Rancho Cucamonga residents who are confined to their homes. Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Strong people skills, the ability to communicate effectively with people of great diversity, and patience are necessary. Click here for more information on Housecalls.
