Hands-Only CPR...only takes 5 minutes to learn!

Hesitant to get certified in CPR?  Intimidated by the thought of having to do mouth-to-mouth resuscitation?  Learn Hands-Only CPR!  The American Heart Association introduced "Hands-Only CPR" in 2008 and it has proven to be as effective as traditional CPR.  Many people are hesitant to learn CPR for fear that they may do something wrong, but firefighter/paramedics assure them that the only way to harm someone is to do nothing at all.

Providing CPR immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can increase, even triple, the chance of survival of someone who has a heart attack.  Unfortunately, today's data shows that only 30-35% of heart attack victims receive CPR from bystanders.  With 80% of cardiac arrests occurring at home, that means that the life you might save may be someone you love.  Rancho Cucamonga Firefighters are launching a "Hands-Only CPR" campaign to get more citizens trained in CPR in hopes that more cardiac arrest victims will receive bystander CPR.  Firefighters will host Hands-Only CPR training demonstrations at various community events.  It only takes 5 minutes to learn and its FREE!
