Fire ChiefCourage Honor Service

Mike Bell
Fire Chief

Chief Mike Bell began his fire service career as a paid call firefighter with the Town of Apple Valley in 1981 before working as a full-time firefighter with the City of Banning.  He joined the Fire District in 1985 as a firefighter when the department was still the Foothill Fire District. After promoting through the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief/Fire Marshal, and Deputy Chief, he now leads the organization of more than 125 employees as the Fire Chief.

Chief Bell, a husband and father of three brings practical vision and leadership to the organization. Challenged with foreseen budget issues and having to manage finite resources, Chief Bell seeks new, innovative ways to both meet and exceed the ever changing demands for service.
