Southwest Cucamonga Park

The City of Rancho Cucamonga has been notified by the State of California that $3.94 million will be awarded to the City from an application submitted for Proposition 84 Grant funds.  The funds are designated to be used for the design and construction of a new neighborhood park in southwest Cucamonga (on Madrone Avenue next to the Cask and Cleaver Restaurant).

Although receiving funding is a huge milestone, the work has just begun.  In early 2011 environmental documents for the site will be prepared and submitted to the State.  Once State approval is received additional public meetings will be scheduled to continue developing ideas for Public Art and the reuse of existing, on-site materials in the park design, before construction begins.  It is anticipated that the entire process will take 2½  to 3 years.

Stay tuned for further updates on the park progress, as well as notifications of design meetings.
