Is the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center a "No-Kill" Shelter?

The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center is an open admission center, which means that we will take in pets from Rancho Cucamonga residents, regardless of the pet’s age or temperament.  The Center receives pets that are too old or sick for adoption or whose temperament would make them a danger to the community. These pets are euthanized because they cannot be placed for adoption. Most shelters which do not euthanize pets are selective admission, meaning that they have the ability to refuse to accept any pet with physical or temperament problems that would make them unadoptable.

The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center cannot guarantee that every pet brought to the Center will find a home.

We want anyone turning a pet into the Center to be aware that the pet will be put to sleep if we cannot place the pet in a new home.

We ask pet owners to try every solution (many of which can be found on this website) before bringing a pet to the Center.

There is currently a nationwide pet overpopulation problem because there are more pets looking for homes than there are responsible homes to house them.  If we were to place every homeless pet, each person in the United States would have to own 15 dogs and 45 cats.  The solution to this problem is to spay & neuter our pets until there is a home for every homeless pet.
