Community Programs Van PictureThe success of the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Services Department greatly depends on the relationship we have with our community.  This important partnership creates the foundation upon which our goal of building a community in which every adoptable pet finds a home can be achieved.  To enhance this relationship the Animal Care and Services Department has developed many Community Programs within the department as well as attending various programs throughout the community.

The Volunteer Program and Foster Care Program provide the Animal Center with the ability to enhance the care we provide to the orphaned pets who enter our Center.  Attending the offsite programs requires the help of registered and trained volunteers to be able to take dogs, cats and small animals to these events. Providing transportation and caring for them while they are there.

Bark in the Ballpark Aug 2010We help educate the public about not only adoption of homeless animals, but the importance of spaying and neutering their pets, licensing for dogs of residents in Rancho Cucamonga, and micro-chipping. We also provide information regarding the Animal Center, low cost vaccination clinics, pet care and responsible pet ownership.  Our Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program helps Rancho residents and businesses spay and neuter feral cats within the City, allowing us to humanely manage the populations in our city.

Some of the events that we attend are Bark in the Ballpark (June-August), Putt4Paws, Furry Friends Festival, L.A. County Fair (September), Furry Friends Flea Market, Grape Harvest Festival, Bark for Life, Earth Day, Wellness Fair, A Dog Day in the Park, pet expos and many more. Check our calendar for upcoming events and help make a difference in the lives of the animals here at the Center.

Our Mascots Goldie and Raisin participate in many Community Programs outside our our Center and are always excited to meet new people.  Nothing makes them happier than shaking paws with the children who love to meet them.  In addition we perform Center Tours of our facility for various groups within and outside of the City.
