Veronica Fincher has worked in the animal welfare field her entire life. From childhood on, she has been devoted to rescuing homeless pets and finding them new homes. She has a soft spot for wildlife and has spent many years rehabilitating orphaned and injured wild birds and mammals and releasing them back into appropriate habitats.
Veronica graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. While attending college, she volunteered for a humane society as a caretaker and adoption counselor. This volunteer position tugged at her heartstrings and initiated her desire to work in a professional capacity to develop programs and services that directly benefit both the animals and the community.
Her career highlights include working as a veterinary technician, an animal control officer, managing a wildlife rehabilitation and education program, and leading a successful large non-profit animal welfare organization in her role as Senior Vice President of Operations for the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. Throughout her career, she has also developed skills in fundraising, humane education and outreach programs, working with volunteers, staff development, and disaster training and response.
Veronica is very excited to lead the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Services team. “I love the animal welfare field and I love my job. Nothing is greater than being able to combine your passion with your job, and work in a field where you know you are making a difference”.
