Obtaining a Business License
  1. Obtain a Business License Application form from the Civic Center or by calling the City Business License Division at (909) 919-2948, or by downloading a copy of the application:
  2. Read the application thoroughly and complete all sections including business name, location and mailing address. State whether the business is a sole proprietorship, a partnership or a corporation. Be specific in describing the type of business such as retail, wholesale, general contractor, service, property rental, etc.
  3. Be sure to include the following information:
    • Retail Sales Tax Number
    • Federal Employer Identification Number or Social Security Number
    • State Employer Identification Number (if applicable)
    • State License Number (if applicable)
    • State Contractor's Class and License Number (if applicable)
  4. Also, complete the information about the owner(s) or officers, including home address, social security number and drivers license number.
  5. On the reverse side of the application, find your business category and provide the estimated gross receipts or estimated gross payroll of your business for the first 12 months. Calculate the business license tax based on the table provided and pay the total tax due when you submit your application.
  6. Be sure to sign and date the application.
  7. Submit the application to the City Business License Division along with your payment to the City of Rancho Cucamonga for the total tax due.
